In The Garden Candle
As a young girl growing up in the South, we spent our Sundays at a little white church in the country. I would sit next to my grandmother, Grace, listening to the congregation sing the 1912 hymn In the Garden. As I grew older and moved away, I always loved the feeling I would get coming back home and going to church with my grandmother. The sweet church would make me feel so special by singing In the Garden (just for me). Now, as I wander through my own rose gardens, it takes me right back to such a special time in my life. In the Garden is a rich floral aroma, with delicate undertones, that will transplant you to the gardens at Rose Farm. It may even remind you of memories with your grandmother. Hand-poured in Des Moines by Currently Co., the small-batch candles are made with all-natural, soy wax + cotton wicks.

The Emma Candle
I grew up next to my paternal grandmother Emma (better known as my Mimi) on the McCallie farmstead that she and my Pappy started. She had a huge magnolia tree that I would spend endless hours in, climbing to the top with my cousin Crystal. To this day, the magnolia tree is still standing strong. My love of flowers came from Emma. Tall bearded iris’ in a variety of colors would be the first sign of spring at the farm, along with daffodils, or buttercups, as we call them in the South. My love of hydrangeas came from her. She had three varieties – Endless Summer, Annabelle + Little Lime. Her yard was lined with Crape Myrtle’s that bloomed all summer long. On one side of her beautiful white home (which inspired my custom home) she had red climbing roses on a huge trellis. I spent countless hours in her front yard, swinging on the bag swing, playing baseball with my cousins, and climbing all her trees. I was blessed with a beautiful childhood growing up next to both of my grandmothers. The Emma is a bold, sweet, and at times citrusy aroma, sweeping you off your feet with a powdery +playful scent. Hand-poured in Des Moines by Currently Co., the small-batch candles are made with all-natural, soy wax + cotton wicks.

The Grace Candle
Growing up on our family farm meant that my maternal grandmother’s house was right next door. Grace was the most amazing baker our small community had ever seen. She was known for her handmade pies + cinnamon rolls. You could always count on finding a sweet treat on top of her kitchen table. Her favorite flower was the gardenia. She endured many heartaches in her lifetime, but her faith never wavered. Every Sunday as a child, I would sit next to her in church, and she would teach me how to read the song hymnals. To this day, I can still smell her. We share many traits - our love for family, a strong faith + work ethic, a love of cats, Easter traditions (our favorite holiday!), making lipstick a part of your outfit, and dressing up for everything. When I moved away, she called every Saturday and sent a handwritten letter every week, with the date + weather written on it. I now have a collection of hundreds of beautiful, handwritten letters. She would make my favorite meal of fried chicken, along with lemon ice box pie for dessert. Her sweet tea couldn’t be beat, and every glass I pour for our guests at the farm is a reminder of my grandmother. The Grace is enchanting + bright. The beloved aroma of gardenias will remind you of humid summer nights, listening to the cicadas, as the sweetness of the flowers wrap you in a gentle hug (just as Grace would wrap me in love). Hand-poured in Des Moines by Currently Co., the small-batch candles are made with all-natural, soy wax + cotton wicks.

The Victoria Candle
The Victoria garden at the farm is filled to the brim with perennials, and it hosts one of my mother-in-law’s favorite flowers – the lilac. The sweet aroma of lilacs is a reminder of how my love for her ran wide + deep. She created the most wonderful man – my husband. She and I shared many passions together, including our families, celebrating everything, hosting parties, our love for traditions + making things extra special. She loved our farm, and spent much time here planting perennial flowers, growing a vegetable garden, and canning our abundance of the season. I was blessed by her life, and am thankful for the 24 years we had together. The Victoria is bursting with a bright, fresh lilac + lemon aroma sure to remind you of the beautiful purple flower. Hand-poured in Des Moines by Currently Co., the small-batch candles are made with all-natural, soy wax + cotton wicks.
