Shell-ebrate with us at Turtle Power Nature Hour! Join us on Friday, July 17th for a fun + fascinating morning as we explore the world of turtles, tortoises, and sea turtles, discovering what makes each one unique and what they all have in common. From habitats to life cycles, we’ll dive into the details of these slow-and-steady creatures in a way that’s perfect for curious young learners. We’re excited to welcome our friends from the Blank Park Zoo, who will be on-site with real turtles for an up-close, hands-on experience you won’t want to miss. Children will also get to explore a glowing light table to take a peek inside turtle eggs and better understand early development, then dig into a sand sensory bin to bring the turtle life cycle to life through play. To round out the adventure, our friends from the West Des Moines Public Library will share a delightful, turtle-themed story. It’s an engaging blend of science, sensory play, and storytime—perfect for little explorers ready to come out of their shells.
