Let’s get growing! Join us for a three-hour workshoppe that will provide guests with insight into creating a thriving garden. After establishing goals of growing, learn more about the seed starting process, as well as the in’s + out’s of grow lights, transplanting, hardening off plants, watering, pest and disease management, pollination, and weed control. This hands-on workshoppe will have guests rolling up their sleeves and experiencing the topics first-hand. A basic knowledge of gardening is helpful to understand the content.
Beth Wall has been a Master Gardener since 2016. She grew up gardening with her family, starting when she was very young. She uses gardening for its multitude of benefits including food production for her family, community, pollinators and as a source of destressing. Her passion in growing is primarily vegetable production. When she is not gardening, Beth and her husband are working to restore their land to native prairie, raising three boys, tending to chickens, and enjoying the outdoors. Rural Roots Farm, their acreage, has been a labor of love and a dream come true. Beth’s other passion is her profession as a critical care nurse taking care of veterans at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.
